Glues have become a more debatable issue since I was a wee lad. When I started woodworking, I had a choice of animal glue that came in small dark pearls and had to be heated in a double boiler pot to get it ready for use, or the incredibly handy, new-fangled PVA glue that came ready mixed in a plastic bottle. This PVA was applied to the wood, cramped up and the bond was literally stronger than the wood itself. Compared to the animal glue it was a no-brainer as to which glue I chose to use.
